Confusion Over Aims
Hey Guys, I feel like I might be missing out on something as there seems to be some confusion now around what the exact aim of our interventions is going to be. When we last discussed this in class we decided on the aim of discovering the hidden norms and behavioural constraints in leisure time, specifically with regard to nightlife. The intervention ideas so far are all very interesting but seem like they might be starting to move away from this. I feel we already realised that studying music itself or genres of music was too unfocussed and broad so I think we should be careful of drifting back towards that (not to say it can't have any place in our project). If this it what everyone in the group wants then of course I'm happy to go along with a new aim but, personally, I would rather stick with the aim we came up with last group work session as I think it was suitably focussed and political. I'm sure that the ideas so far can fit in with this aim I just think we should be careful not to end up with people doing lots of different stuff that doesn't relate to a bigger picture. However, its great that we have lots of different ideas; our project doesn't necessarily lend itself to a single big intervention so our strength can be the quantity of different interventions we carry out. I'm also aware that I haven't actually posted any intervention ideas myself yet so I'll do that in a minute, let me know what you all think.
